Koro Sun Resort Fiji Review

About a week ago myself and around 20 others travelled to Koro Sun Fiji for our friend’s wedding.

For the wedding, we all stayed at Koro Sun resort. On arrival at the resort, we were greeted with music playing and a coconut to drink from along with a foot massage, this was very nice after a long day of travel. When we arrived we were offered a room upgrade. We had booked a garden bure but were upgraded to an overwater 2 storey villa. Our bags were then taken to our room, this was a nice touch.

Customer service at Koro Sun 10/10

All of the staff were fantastic and very friendly. As you’re walking through the resort all of the staff will say hello “bula” and will make you feel very welcome. They really went above and beyond to make our stay great. They would put in the effort to talk to us and make conversation as much as possible.

Food 7/10

The food at Koro Sun is the only thing that I think deserves an average review. Although there was free continental breakfast the lunch and dinner dining package was very expensive. This resulted in us choosing the other dining options at the resort.

Swim-up bar

Aside from the buffet, there was a high-end restaurant and a bar that served mostly pizza and burgers. These were really our only two options for lunch and dinner. The food was pretty good and the cocktails were fantastic the only problem was that we sometimes had to wait a long time for the food to arrive. They could improve the dining experience by making the food cheaper, quicker or by making the dining packages more affordable for all guests.

Accommodation 9/10

The accommodation at Koro Sun was fantastic.  It was in a beautiful location and most of the villas that our friends stayed in were overwater villas. Because we were with such a large group of people we had the opportunity to see multiple villas at the resort. All of the villas were very nice. The only problem was that the hot water did not last long enough for a decent shower and some of the interiors were a little dated.

Cleanliness 9.5/10

Overall cleanliness of the resort and of the rooms was pretty good. The only problem was all of the bugs. But you do have to remember that when staying in a tropical location bugs are inevitable. The bugs weren’t preventable so I won’t mark them down for that.

Amenities 10/10

Koro Sun had fantastic amenities. It was hard to get bored. Each morning they had a list of daily activities. They offered activities such as snorkelling, hiking, village trips and many more. Aside from the scheduled activities the resort also had many other amenities.

There was a total of 3 pools! One near the reception, 1 adults swim-up bar and 1 children’s pool with a fairly large waterslide that we had a lot of fun on.

The resort also had kayaks and paddleboards that you could use for free throughout your stay. There was also books and board games in the foyer.

If you like exercising there is a tennis court, golf course and bikes available to use. For a more relaxing activity there was also a pool table and darts.

If you have children there is also a children’s club with a playground. The children’s club hosts many kids activities throughout the day.

The resort also has a spa in the middle of the rainforest.  My boyfriend and I had a couples massage. It was great. You could hear the sound of the waterfall in the background. It was a great way to relax.

Koro sun as a wedding venue review

Koro Sun was a great location for a wedding. The venue offered two locations for the wedding.  Couples had the choice of either the rainforest or the beach. For the wedding we went to it was hosted in the rainforest. The ceremony was beautiful.

The reception was hosted at Latitude 17. The food and drink service was great. For an added treat we had some of the villagers come and perform traditional dances for us as well as fire dances.
