Spring cleaning Room by Room-Deep cleaning checklist

Spring cleaning can seem like a daunting task. There are so many things to do and it is hard to know where to start.  The best way to tackle a spring clean is to do it room to room. If you try to clean the whole house at once it can be overwhelming. The best thing you can do is to tackle one room per day or per weekend.

A clean home will smell and look great. Here is a comprehensive room by room deep cleaning checklist.

What you will need:

• A good quality vacuum 

• Mop

• Mop bucket

• Pressure cleaner (optional)

• Cloths 

• Sponges

• Dish soap

• Furniture polish 

• Upholstery cleaner 

• Duster

• A dustpan

• Multi-purpose cleaner

• Toilet brush 

• Toilet cleaner

• Glass cleaner or ammonia

• Spray bottles

• Vinegar 

• Baking soda

• Oven cleaner 

• Broom

• An outdoor boom 

• Some willpower

General deep cleaning checklist

• Clean all baseboards

• Wash walls 

• Clean all of your doors

• Dust entire home (Including furniture, doors, etc)

• Polish wooden furniture

• Replace lightbulbs 

• Remove your rugs and doormats, shake out and give them a deep clean

• Thoroughly vacuum your entire home

• Mop entire home (obviously this does not include your carpet)

• Clean windowsills

• Clean windows inside and out

• Disinfect your children’s toys 

• Clean and wash soft toys 

• Wash all of your curtains 

• Wash and change bedsheets

• Deep clean your carpet- if possible hire a steam cleaner if your carpet really needs a proper clean

• Touch up paint

• Do a de-clutter and see what items you can donate or sell

Deep kitchen cleaning checklist

• Deep clean your rangehood including its filters

• Clean out your fridge, freezer and pantry 

• Deep clean your fridge and freezer

• Deep clean pantry shelves

• Move your fridge so that you can clean under it

• Organise your fridge, freezer and pantry
