I have done some EXTENSIVE research to find the best playgrounds in Melbourne, and have studied hundreds of parks in every corner of Melbourne and Geelong and I am happy to finally give you this extensive list of parks and playgrounds near you.
I have only recently become a mum. My son is currently 9 months old at the time of writing this and he is too small for playgrounds. But I plan to take him to all of these playgrounds in Melbourne and on this list as he grows and give him the best childhood ever.
When I was a kid we never went to many interesting playgrounds. I only ever went to my local park which was mediocre at best. When I would occasionally go to a large park or adventure playground it was a huge treat and I can’t wait to take my son to all of these amazing playgrounds and adventure parks during his childhood.
As I continue to visit these playgrounds I will slowly start to write articles and in-depth reviews for each one but that will take me time and I may not get it done until my son is older and we can visit these places and enjoy them properly.
We have visited a few but it feels weird taking photos of parks when my kid can’t even play at these parks yet. I can’t wait until he is old enough to finally test these playgrounds out properly.

The Safari Park was inspired by the Werribee Open Range Zoo was designed by PEET with a little help from Melbourne Playground expert Mamma Knows West. Mamma Knows West really know their playgrounds so you know this park will have everything. One of the main features of Safari Park is the huge 6.2-metre Giraffe Swing.

Wyndham Park has had a 13 million dollar upgrade. It is one of the best parks in Werribee, and I would go as far as to say that it is one of the best parks in Melbourne! It is located behind Watton Street in Werribee and there are many places to enter from Watton Street. The best parking is in Watton Street or one of the car parks within Watton Street then you can walk easily into Wyndham Park. The park is huge, you won’t miss it.

Upper Point Cook Playground is one of the Best Playgrounds in Point Cook. It is also unique and eye-catching. I love this park. While the main play area is more suited to older kids there are also a few things for the younger kids. Upper Point Cook Playground has a basketball court, flying fox, 2 slides, multiple swings, BBQ facilities, tables and a soccer field.

Aeroplane Park Tarneit is a great plane themed playground in Melbourne’s outer west. Parks with themes are great for imaginative play. The centrepiece of the park is the large plane structure. The park is also home to a nest swing, traditional swing, baby swing and a couple of small slides. This playground is very toddler friendly. It’s a great park but I think older kids might get a little bored here.
